Do you need help finding ancestors who lived in Randolph County or neighboring Lawrence, Greene, Clay or Sharp Counties in Northeast Arkansas? How about Southeast Missouri? I live near the state line and will gladly travel to research for you. I can search state archives for items such as birth and death records, or search the local records which are not online--such as our county probate files (early 1800s-present), newspaper archives and obituaries (20th Century), locally authored books and memoirs, one-room school records (early 1920s-1948). I can also investigate U. S. Military Records and prepare requests for muster records, etc. from the National Archives.  I can visit cemeteries and take pictures of graves, make copies of old marriage records, and MUCH MORE.  I can retrieve one item, such as an obituary from 1935, or comb our local resources looking for all possible leads. 

My rates and fees are very reasonable (typically $5 per local record retrieval or $20 per hour). Contact me for more information. I can work for an hour or a week--whatever you need.

I now have the COMPLETE Arkansas Priors Birth Records Index (birth certificates from before 1914) and am offering a FREE SEARCH (simply e-mail me with a name). If I find a record, my fee is only $5.00 for the information needed to retrieve the record. I can search by surname, mother's maiden name, and/or county.

 Research may also be available for surrounding counties of Northeast Arkansas & Southeast Missouri.

I am a life-long resident of Randolph County and I am descended from many of the earliest families who settled here.  

     Professionally, I am a full-time 17-year veteran educator, and am considered a local historian. I've successfully written grants, served as a humanities scholar and volunteered in local history or heritage-related projects and events for many years. I also enjoy being a guest speaker in local public school history classes from time to time.

My Pledge

     An initial search and consultation are FREE.  I will not charge for anything unless I know records will be found in Randolph County.

     My research packages are available for clients who have a specific research goal or amount of money they wish to spend. If considerable research is needed, I suggest clients share costs with other family members.
